POET

John Moise was born August 4, 1980, on The Nature Island, Dominica. The second son to his mother, Ruth Moise, John was raised by his grandmother until the age of seven before moving to the US Virgin Islands to live with his mother. John lived with his mother for eight years, thereafter moving out on his own at the age of sixteen, reasoning that he felt neglected at home and a growing lack of communication in his relationship with his mother, especially pertaining to his father's absence. It was the first night in his apartment, living on his own, John began writing poetry. "Writing became the source that prevented pushing my rebellious stage into overdrive," John will say. He went on to graduate from high school and attended the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale(Ai). Following graduation from Ai, he started his own graphic and web design company, the first of his many business ventures.

My Fine Art, A Canvas of Written Expressions, a collection of poetry written by Moise, displays his ideas about life, love, women and his passion and understanding of acceptance. He gathered a portion of his poems for his book from his early years as a poet, while other pieces are more recent reflections, thus creating the first installment to this volume, a collection of inspirational and passionate poetic thoughts.
